Guided running trips

In the summer of 2014, I put together a running trip across the Rockies - I called it “Hut Run Hut” - a play on hut to hut. The goal was to combine several of my own personal passions - running, nature and providing service to others. The trip was a success and I’ve continued to put together multi-day running trips ever since then. The experiences that I provide incorporate culture, travel, endurance and cuisine; they urge us to think of running “beyond the bib” - as a meditative form of movement that can better help us connect with the people, the landscape and with ourselves. I hope to be able to share an adventure with you someday.

Hut Run Hut

Hut Run Hut is a six-day, one-hundred-mile, Aspen-to-Red Cliff mountain running adventure with a priority of fun over fast. Running ten to twenty-five miles per day along the iconic and breath-taking Continental Divide, participants will traverse a portion of the Colorado Rockies while resting at the secluded 10th Mountain Division Huts along the way.

As a former hut-keeper and trail-worker with the 10th Mountain Division Hut Association, I am eager to share the experience of running remotely through the mountains that have long been my backyard.

Bus Run Bus -

San Francisco to Seattle

I’m pairing up with my favorite road trip buds again, Green Tortoise, to offer an unforgettable adventure starting and finishing in two iconic cities while visiting some of this country’s most incredible trails through the Redwoods, over Volcanoes, along Rivers. We’ll soak in some hot springs, eat amazing food, celebrate the 4th of July somewhere rad, watch the finish of the Western States 100 unfold.

Over 23 early bird (before Jan 1): $2100

Over 23 (after Jan 1): $2300

Santa Fe Fastpack

The route will leave the high desert and move into the higher forests and peaks of the Pecos Wilderness that make up the backdrop of this Northern New Mexico landscape. This trip is being offered as a running/fast-packing hybrid as an opportunity to both experience the love of trail running but also become familiar with a simple and fast-paced camping style known as “fast-packing”. The first two days and nights will be spent running and car-camping while the final three days and two nights will be self-sustained fast-packing.

Spring/Early Summer - 2025

Hut Run Hut Japan

Japan is a country rich with culture, tradition and (lucky for us trail runners) great trails through rugged and beautiful mountains. The trip will meet in Tokyo and travel to the Japanese Alps for four days of hut to hut fastpacking before heading back south to make a one-day ascent of Japan’s most iconic natural landmark - Mount Fuji.

August 16-24, 2025 - $3795

Santa Fe Bikepack

I am now offering bikepacking trips out of the high desert of Northern New Mexico. As a lifelong biker, I was excited to discover bikepacking following my run across the country - as a way to see wild places without some of the impact.

Bikepacking is pretty much bike touring but with mountain biking capabilities. Advances in gear have encouraged a lot of growth in the sport as has a general desire to rediscover wild places by different means.

Why is it awesome? Biking is fun! Biking allows for greater range which makes a front-door-departure all the more attainable.

Trips will leave from downtown Santa Fe and over two nights, explore the high desert alongside the Rio Grande river as well as the aspen and ponderosa strewn foothills of the Sangre de Cristo mountains.
